Chris Brown's assault trial delayed

The buzz surrounding this Washington, D.C. court has died down for now.

Singer Chris Brown appeared here Wednesday - where a judge postponed his assault trial. Possibly for months.

This comes just two days after his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, was convicted of assault in a separate trial.

Both Brown and Hollosy were arrested last fall, accused of punching a 20-year-old outside a hotel near the White House.

But Hollosy, who was Brown's chief witness, would not testify unless granted immunity... Something the judge wouldn't let happen.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) MARK GERAGOS, THE CHIEF DEFENSE ATTORNEY FOR CHRIS BROWN, SAYING:

"Based on that, we asked and the judge agreed to sign an order returning Chris to Los Angeles. We expect to be back there next week."

That's Brown's attorney, who maintains his innocence:
