Wendy's customers finds half-smoked joint in her cheeseburger

A Wendy's employee was arrested after an Atlanta, Georgia customer found a half-smoked joint in her cheeseburger, according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Amy Seiber was smoking a marijuana cigarette while fixing a burger early last month at Wendy's Lovejoy franchise when it somehow fell into the burger, leaving an unsuspecting customer who picked up a meal from the burger joint, with a joint burger.

That customer happened to be 39-year-old Shalon Travis, who ordered a single cheeseburger combo from the store's drive-through window on November 1st.

"Upon arrival at home, she took her food out of the bag and noticed a strange odor in her hamburger," Lovejoy police officer Michael Gaddis told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"When she opened it, she discovered a partially smoked marijuana cigarette."

The woman hurried back to the restaurant, reported the incident to the manager and called the police.

Seiber readily fessed up.

"They were able to speak with the suspect, who admitted that she was responsible," said Gaddis. "She had been smoking while she worked. When she was fixing the burger, part of the marijuana fell into the burger."

Seiber was fired and arrested. The 32-year-old was charged with possession of less than an ounce of pot.

"Obviously the employee broke the rules and did not follow proper food handling steps," a spokesperson for Wendy's told TMZ. "We are deeply sorry that this incident occurred."
