Red Hot Chili Torture

Chad Smith, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was anything but reserved after he learned that the U.S. government had used a loop of their music played at high volumes to torture detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

We can see where he's coming from -- it's not like the band set out to create a body of work that would be just perfect for coaxing confessions out of suspected terrorists.

Nor is Smith the only artist to publicly speak out against the practice. Members of Metallica and Skinny Puppy have also made it clear they do not appreciate or endorse their music being used as a weapon.
