AFGHAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS - Afghanistan's democratic transition marred by rampant corruption and electoral fraud

Saturday some 13 millions Afghans will be asked to pick their next president among 11 candidates. For the first time the country transitions from one democratically elected leader to another. The winner's biggest challenge will be dealing with Taliban attacks as NATO forces withdraw after more than 12 years of war. But with rampant corruption, vote rigging and the recent surge in violence, internal and external observers wonder how legitimate this poll will be.
