The bodies of two Malaysian sisters reported missing on Friday were found in a canal on Sunday, one day after the semi-nude body of their elder sister was found in a paddy field.

According to the Star, the girls, aged 14, 12 and 3, left their home in Kampung Alor Semela on a motorcycle ridden by the eldest daughter Norsyafika Nadia Rusdi at 7:30pm on November 29. She had taken her two siblings with her to her employer's home in Kampung Gelam, about 6km away, to collect her wages.

The children failed to return home by midnight and the parents started searching for them. When they found out that the children never arrived at the employer's home their mother filed a report at the Langgar police station.

The eldest daughter's body, clad in only a bra, was found the next day in a paddy field in Kampung Alor Senibong at 3:45pm.

A search for the two younger sisters, Nur Izzati Husna Rusdi and Puteri Nurul Akma Rusdi, was begun. Some passers-by saw two bodies floating in a canal in Kampung Padang Petani, and reported to the police, who confirmed the bodies belonged to the missing girls. They were fully-clothed, and around 200 meters apart from each other. A pair of dark-color pants was also found near them.

The motorcycle was later found near a bus-stop about 900m from their home and 2km from where the eldest daughter's body was discovered.

The New Straits Times reported that the authorities noted no signs of rape or abuse in the eldest daughter's body. A post mortem examination found that she was drowned to death. The police would classify the cases as homicide.

The eldest child recently quit school to help her parents, who worked as school cleaners. The family moved to Kampung Alor Semela from Terengganu only a year ago. The parents had no other children.
