V.A.C.C. Camp: A Day at the Beach

V.A.C.C. Camp (Ventilation Assisted Children's Center) is a free week-long overnight camp for children needing a tracheostomy ventilator, C-PAP, BiPAP, or oxygen to support breathing. The camp, which just celebrated its 28th year, is hosted each spring by Miami Children's Hospital and attracts campers from throughout the United States and internationally.
One of the many highlights of the week is a trip to the beach, which isn't as easy as you might think for kids in 300lb motorized wheelchairs. But like they do every year, the Miami Beach Firefighters make sure the kids get their feet (and bodies) wet.
