U.S. President Barack Obama on Friday (March 28) wrapped up the Rome leg of his European tour.

Obama greeted well-wishers at Rome's Fiumicino airport before climbing the steps and waving as he boarded Air Force One.

The president was accompanied by Secretary of State John Kerry on the flight to Riyadh.

During his visit to the Italian capital Obama met with Pope Francis and Italy's political leaders and took a private tour of one of the city's most famous landmarks, the Colosseum.
