China president pays respects to unknown soldier at Arc de Triomphe in Paris

STORY: China's President Xi Jinping paid his respects at the tomb of the unknown soldier in the shadow of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Thursday.

Accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan and the French minister in charge of veterans Kader Arif, Xi laid a wreath at the tomb commemorating France's war dead.

The ceremony was part of a three-day state visit to France which will also see Xi attend a concert and banquet at the Palace of Versailles later on Thursday.
