Obama: We will "do everything we can to support Ukraine"

STORY: U.S. President Barack Obama told a news conference in Italy that "We are going to do everything we can to support Ukraine."

Obama, standing alongside with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi also said he did not want to promise more to Ukraine than could be delivered.

On Thursday, The International Monetary Fund, approved a new aid package for Ukraine, and said it does not see a need to restructure the country's debt at this time.

The IMF's two most recent programs with Ukraine went off track because of the previous governments' failure to follow through with politically difficult measures such as raising gas prices, which the IMF said was necessary to put the government's finances in order.
