ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION).

STORY: A Thai satellite has detected about 300 floating objects in the southern Indian Ocean where an international search is underway for a missing Malaysian jetliner, said Thailand's Geo Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) on Thursday (March 27).

Anon Snidvongs, the executive director of GISTDA said the satellite images was taken on Monday (March 24) and took two days to process the information.

The objects were spotted around 2,700km (1,680 miles) southwest of Perth by the satellite "Thaichote".

Thailand has already forwarded the information to Malaysia, GISTDA said.

Thai media reported it remains uncertain whether the objects are from Malaysia Airlines MH370 and the Thai images come after a French satellite spotted 122 objects nearby.

Thaichote or "Thailand Earth Observation Satellite" is a remote-sensing satellite used for natural resources observation.
