Steinhoff's Monster - Jonathan David Steinhoff
I finished this originally 16mm film at CalArts in 1978, and now see it as a predecessor of Spielberg's "War of the Worlds". On this subject of origins, look for the dog dressed up like a dinosaur in fellow CalArts alumni Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie" (1984). I thank Mary Shelley, Peter Beckman and his Boris Karloff, Michael Mann and his window, and the children. I suppose this work would have gone further if it had alien dissection of humans, but we live and learn.
