Afghan forces shoot dead three gunmen in hotel attack

Afghan special forces have shot dead three gunmen who broke into the luxury Serena Hotel in the capital Kabul.

The hotel is less than 1km from the presidential palace and popular with foreigners.

The men claimed they were going to the restaurant when they opened fire injuring two hotel staff:

Sediq Sediqqi is a spokesperson
for the Afghan Interior Ministry:
“The Taliban have claimed responsibility of course these attackers are part of or members of Taliban or the Haqqani networks so they are working all together for us they are the enemy of Afghanistan.”

All three attackers were under 18-years of age.
