Families of passengers on board missing flight wait for news
As search planes scour the waters, families of passengers on the missing Malaysia airlines jetliner desperately await news.
Relatives here in Beijing were hoping to greet their loved ones instead they learned the aircraft vanished from radar screens in the early hours of Saturday.
Two hundred and 39 people were on board flight MH370, which left Kuala Lumpur and went missing about an hour into its flight to Beijing.
Now relatives and friends in the Chinese capital have been told to fly to the Malaysian capital.
(SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) GUO XISHUN, FATHER-LAW-OF MISSING PASSENGER, SAYING:
"If the government can't be sure, we can't be sure either. At the moment, we are only guessing. At the moment, we have no idea whether there are survivors, whether some were saved, or whether they crashed into the ocean. In this situation, what is the point in us going to Malaysia?"
