Woman leaves nude daughter, 6, unattended in Japan

A 35-year-old Japanese woman from Nagoya was arrested on Sunday afternoon for allegedly leaving her 6-year-old nude daughter unattended on a locked balcony for over three hours. She faces charges of confinement and causing bodily injury.
The accused woman lives with her two daughter and claims the elder daughter ignored her demands on Sunday afternoon. Mum stripped her daughter naked, bound the child's wrists and sealed her mouth with adhesive tape. The woman confined her to the locked balcony area then went out with her younger daughter.
Three hours passed before the next-door neighbour called police, discovering the naked daughter in the confined space. Police rushed to the house next door and entered the balcony to protect her. The confined daughter is said to have suffered a minor injury to her left hand.
The woman returned home 30 minutes later. She admitted to the allegations during questioning, saying that she confined her daughter to the balcony as punishment for her disobedience. Signs of injury found on the child prompted police to investigate whether she had been previously harmed by her abusive mother.
