With an excessive share of anticipation, Saket Chaudhary's Shaadi Ke Side Effects finally hit the screens on the 28th of February, 2014. Starring an ever promising star cast of Farhan Akhtar and Viday Balan, this flick counts to be a sequel to Saket's 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects. While the initial one narrated an elaborated phase of falling in love, this sequel edition has all that one rejoices and suffers post marriage. So without spoiling any more fun, let's see what Shaadi Ke Side Effects has ultimately offered with its share of pros and cons.
Firstly, a quick brush up through the film's plot. Shaadi Ke Side Effects is a romantic comedy that revolves around married protagonists Vidya and Farhan. Showcasing the initial joys of a happy married life, the story takes a jump after they bare an offspring. Life changes, attention get divided. Vidya turns into a nagging wife and Farhan becomes a frustrated husband. So what follows next is the entire film all about.
Now the story might remind of you quite a few Hollywood films that lean on to after marriage stances. In fact, most of our Bollywood films too stereotype a married woman as a nagging wife! Shaadi Ke Side Effects narrates just the same but owing to Farhan and Vidya, the film gets a whole new feel of being newly married! From their chemistry, to their quarrels on every little things, the story just keeps moving on with the flow. Performance wise, while Farhan eats up the whole cake by putting his best foot forward, Vidya manages to devote her own little space by doing justice to the role. Meanwhile, other leads including Ram Kapoor, Gautami Kapoor, Rati Agnihotri, Purab Kohli, Vir Das, Ila Arun are decent on their front.
To sum it up, Shaadi Ke Side Effects is definitely an all in all entertainer complimenting Farhan-Vidya's on and off chemistry to the highly appealing plot that keeps you engaged throughout the film! Considering that the side effects are not that harmful, go watch this Shaadi in nearby theatres soon!
