Turkish PM accuses rivals of fabricating audio recordings

In front of his cheering party members, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan accused political rivals of fabricating a telephone wiretap to smear him.
The wiretap in question allegedly has Erdogan telling his son to get rid of large sums of money on the day news broke of a graft inquiry into his government.
(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) TURKISH PRIME MINISTER, TAYYIP ERDOGAN, SAYING:
"There are no allegations that I cannot answer. But neither members of the AK Party nor I will be lured by traps to change the agenda, and we will not surrender to this game. If we surrender to them and deal with their shameless montage and shameless traps, we cannot find time to serve our people."
News of the recordings has bewildered the public.
