ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

A group of Russian artists set fire to a barricade of car tires in St. Petersburg on Sunday night (February 23) in support of the Ukrainian protesters.

The amateur video shows the artists arriving in front of the Church of the Saviour on Blood and proceeding to set up the barricade.

The artists waved the Ukrainian flag and banged on metal sheets, just like the protesters in Kiev.

An unknown number of the artists were arrested.

Russia is an ally of the now impeached Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich.

Protests started in Ukraine in November when Yanukovich ditched a trade deal with the European Union in favor of closer ties with Russia.
