Highway Movie Review | Randeep Hooda & Ali Bhatt

The much talked about Imtiaz Ali's film Highway has finally waved its journey for the audience. Starring and unusual pair of Randeep Hooda and Ali Bhatt in leads, while the casting itself had stirred the buzz for the likes of it, the film too further received an obvious high relating to Imtiaz as a brand of love! So without spoiling the suspense and fun, here's what Highway has ultimately offered with its impressive share of twist and tales and a few potholes that can be skipped for the better!
Firstly a quick brush up through the film's plot. Highway narrates a story of a young rich girl Veera who accidently gets kidnapped by a highway robbers team led by Mahabir. However, apart from their mission to grab a ransom from Veera's father, this group of kidnappers further hop to disguise from one destination to another and what follows next, is a beautiful journey through the streets of India and of course, Randeep's blooming proximity with little Alia.
Now, as intended, Imitaz has comfortably managed to deliver the apt plot according to a road journey and has equally also managed to blend in through the lessons of life. But what lacks on its appealing front is a fresh new screen play and an elaborated plot. With a stagnated road trip, the story gets a little monotonous but again, Imitaz climbs up to charm with his element of love and the beautiful destinations from the North of India. While Imitaz has commendably utilized Alia's innocence by inculcating some of the best sequences, Randeep too simply slips into his character like never before. In fact, having etched an unusual pairing of Randeep and Alia, the duo still manages to individually stand out with their amazing performances throughout the film.
To sum it up, Highway on an overall stance is quite a good ride with the wavers of love and Alia's innocence. And well, how could one miss out on the legendary, A.R Rahman! His breath-taking composition is an all new sensation that comes as a pure treat to this visual trip!
