Devo guitarist Bob Casale dies aged 61

American guitarist Bob Casale has died suddenly of heart failure aged 61.

Casale along with his brother Gerald was one of the original members of the US new wave band Devo. .

The group was best known for its 1980 hit ‘Whip It’, featured on the Freedom of Choice album, which went platinum.

Devo broke up in 1991, but reformed five years later and toured steadily over the past two decades.

They released Something for Everybody in 2010, their first album in 20 years.
