Fashion takes a splash in London

Taking its cue from the current bad weather sweeping across Britain, the catwalk was flooded for Hunter Original’s spectacular show at London Fashion Week.

Famous for its Wellington boots, worn by the likes of Kate Moss and Sarah Jessica Parker, the footwear is also a wardrobe staple at British music festivals like Glastonbury.

This unisex collection featured a variety of outerwear, including ponchos, duffle coats and down jackets in rubber, plastic and neoprene.

Drawing heavily on the brand’s traditional greens and browns, the collection also featured modern shapes with explosions of silver, bright yellow and electric blue.

The grande dame of British design showcased a collection that was signature Vivenne Westwood.

“I really wanted to epitomize even more my English look in clothes and so it’s a little eccentric,” she said.

Westwood’s iconic tartan and tailored pieces were worn with crisp white shirts, matte red lipstick and bowler hats.

There was also a risqué side to the collection which featured lacy shorts and mini skirts paired with classic mid-heel court shoes that gave outfits a retro feel.

And if bowler hats aren’t your thing, look to Westwood’s alternative headpiece of choice: the silk headscarf – perfect for stormy weather!
