STORY: Designer Monique Lhuillier departed from her normal floral and flirty fashions for an edgier look for Fall 2014.
The L.A. based designer debuted the darker, yet delicate collection at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week on Saturday (February 8).
Lhuillier, who many Hollywood actresses consider a red carpet go-to, tapped into her bold and dramatic side with a collection she called "a romantic dark side."
"I put some skulls in the collection. And all the embroideries in the past would be floral, now there all skulls and Scorpios and web-like netting. It's because I wanted fall to be more mysterious," said Lhuillier.
The first look on the runway was a fuchsia print high neck midi dress that set the color tone for the entire show.
Lhuillier raised the hem on her cocktail dresses in order to show off her shoe collection, which she has been more than successful.
