Australia's North Queensland Coast Braced for Cyclone Dylan

A tropical low off Australia’s North Queensland coast was officially upgraded and named Cyclone Dylan on January 30. The Bureau of Meteorology said the storm would hit a 250-mile stretch of coast, centred on Townsville, early on January 31. As the cyclone strengthened, residents along a 400-mile stretch of coastline were braced for a dangerous storm tide with coastal areas already experiencing king tides.
