German premiere of 'Mandela' in Berlin
Two months after the death of South Africa's president and Nobel prize laureate, Nelson Mandela, the biopic 'Mandela - Long Walk to Freedom' premiered in Berlin.
Idris Elba, who portrays Mandela in the film, attended the German premiere with Mandela's daughter, Zindzi.
SOUNDBITE: Zindzi Mandela saying (English):
"I think as my father often used to say it's a story about how the human spirit has the ability to triumph over adversity. That's the message, irrespective of your circumstances you can turn any negative experience into a positive and you can be major contributor to society."
The film, which was first shown in South Africa a few days before Mandela's death on December 5, 2013, tells the journey of the anti-apartheid campaigner from his childhood to inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
