Serbia set for March elections after parliament dissolved

Serbia’s President Tomislav Nikolic has dissolved parliament and called elections for March 16. The dominant centre-right SNS party said it needed a stronger mandate to accelerate reforms.
Some of them are aimed at meeting conditions set by the European Union for member candidates.
Serbia started EU membership talks earlier this month but is unlikely to join before 2020.
