Syrian peace talks off to muted start

Syrian peace talks got off to a tentative start, with the leaders of the rival delegations faling to attend the first face-to-face meeting and those present refusing to speak to each other directly.

Delgates for the Syrian government and the opposition Syrian National Coalition met face to face for the first time in the meeting on Saturday at the UN's headquaters in Geneva.
