The buses were operating on city public transit routes before this pilot program, but the city of San Francisco received nothing from Google. The new program will charge the parent company of the shuttle buses $1 for each stop it makes on the public bus route. City activists allege that the program does too little to help people other than Google employees.Finally, Ford has announced that it will work with MIT and Stanford University to develop autonomous cars.
