Cavities May Have Caused Great Ape Extinction

Scientists are thinking that the giant Gigantopithecus, a ten foot, great ape thought to have died out hundreds of thousands of years ago may have met their doom from cavities. As their area of tibet cooled, their main food source, bamboo, may have dwindled away, forcing them to eat sugary fruits which may have, in turn, killed them off.
