Camera Captures Scary Gas Pump Accident

In one recent report, an 83-year-old man in Massachusetts struck a gas pump and attendant. An explosion and subsequent fire subsequently broke out.

In one recent report, an 83-year-old man in Massachusetts struck a gas pump and attendant. What followed could be described as chaotic when an explosion and subsequent fire broke out.
Surveillance cameras at the Walpole business captured the disturbing scene. The owner of the gas station said that he only realized what was going on after hearing a massive bang. He then looked at his monitor and saw what he referred to as “a ball of fire”.
The pump attendant was reportedly thrown about 30 feet in the air before colliding with the pavement. EMTs arrived at the scene and transported the employee to the hospital as a precaution. Amazingly, he was not seriously injured.
The manager’s brother was able to douse the fire with three extinguishers. As for the elderly driver, he told officers he mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake when pulling up to the pump.
The owner of the station said he doesn't plan on pressing any legal charges.
