At-sea training exercises begin for transporting Syria's chemical weapons

Members of several countries' armed forces are carrying out emergency scenario training on the Mediterranean.

Their mission? Transport chemical weapons out of Syria.

New video released by the Norwegian armed forces shows officers on board the lead ship prepping for the mission.

Wearing protective suits and masks, crew members give help to a fellow marine pretending to be injured from chemical weapons.

Floating somewhere between Syria and Cyprus, the convoy of ships is being escorted by Chinese and Russian frigates.

The ships were supposed to take the weapons out by December 31st, but poor weather, logistical delays and the continuing conflict inside Syria forced a delay in the mission.
