New Year Fireworks Guinness World Record Dubai 2014

Dubai Celebrates the New Year in spectacular style, with an attempt at the world record for the largest ever fireworks display.
Staring precisely 20 seconds before midnight local time, over 500,000 fireworks were set to be used during the display which is set to last around six minutes.
This is the biggest bang in the history of pyrotechnics has been designed by U.S. firm Fireworks by Grucci.
The performance is set to use 100 computers to synchronise the pyrotechnics, along with a choreographed musical soundtrack.
More than 200 expert technicians have put in 5,000 man hours of work to ensure that the fireworks' timing is accurate down to the millisecond.
Speaking ahead of this evening's event, Alistair Richards, Global President of Guinness World Records, who has travelled especially to Dubai from London to witness the display, said: 'The planned scale of this record attempt is truly impressive and will ensure all eyes are on Dubai. We wish them the best of luck and a record breaking start to the year'.
