Marchers in New Delhi commemorate the death a year ago of a young woman after she was gang-raped aboard a moving bus.

The trainee physiotherapist died in hospital in Singapore two weeks after the attack.

She's become a symbol of the dangers women face in a nation where a rape is reported on average every 21 minutes.

Some of those taking part in Sunday's vigil accuse the government of dragging its heels.

"I've come here from Mumbai, not only to fight but to help people who've woken up after the Nirbhaya case. I've come here to wake up the people still sleeping as our government is doing nothing, so we think we will have to go ahead and do something. I will surely do something until my last breath."

The rape on December 16th and the victim's death two weeks later on the 29th unleashed a wave of sometimes-violent protests across India.
