Annette Hanshaw is the "Girl Band Singer" for Willard Robison and His Deep River Orchestra in this rendition of Smiles. The music was recorded in New York City in March 1928 and released on the Pathe label 36796 and Perfect label 14977. A few of the record labels in this video show the performer as Gay Ellis or Patsy Young. Those are both names under which Annette recorded.
