Bus drivers targeted during Bangladesh strikes

Eight ruling party activists have been sentenced to death in Bangladesh for murder during a nationwide protest.

A tailor was stabbed to death on his way home from work last year during a transport blockade called by opposition supporters.

Their sentences on Wednesday come amid another road blockade and growing unrest in Bangladesh, as many of the victims are innocent bystanders.

Al Jazeera's Maher Sattar reports.
