Sūrat al-Māʿūn (Arabic: سورة الماعون‎) (Small Kindnesses, Almsgiving, Have You Seen) is the 107th sura of the Qur'an with 7 ayat.
This Surah was revealed in Madina where a myriad of factions were conspiring to contain the growing Islamic influence. The Surah discusses the character of those who claim to be Muslims but are oblivious of the hereafter. These people deprive the orphans of their rights, are heedless to the dues of the destitute, and pray without holding God in remembrance, forgetting the objective behind prayer. Their charitable acts are a display of their false piety, since they do not give for the love of God.Have you seen him who denies the Requital?
[1] So he is the same one who pushes away the orphan. [2] and does not persuade (others) to feed the needy. [3] So, woe to those performers of salah, [4] who are neglectful of their salah, [5] who (do good only to) show off, [6] and refuse (to give even) small gifts. [7]
Kanzul Itman is the name of the 1910 Urdu translation of the Qur'an by Ahmad Raza Khan. It was subsequently translated into English by Professor Shah Faridul Haque. Recently, it has been translated into many other regional languages and become popular on the internet.
Kanzul Iman has been translated into the English language by many Islamic scholars.
