Ukraine PM: Protesters will be punished for "illegal acts"

Thousands of anti-government protesters remain on the streets of Kiev for the 14th day.

A rally forms outside of Kiev city jail, as demonstrators call on police to release those detained during the demonstrations.

(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVIST, OLEKSANDER SOLONTAI, SAYING:

"They took them and put them into jail just to scare the people on the squares. Are these the kind of processes to be used in politics? To show people they should go home or they will be put into prison?"

Demonstrators threatened to extend their blockade to the office of President Viktor Yanukovich, who flew to China on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Prime Minister Mykola Azarov warned protesters trying to blockade government buildings that they would be punished for any "illegal acts."
