Egyptians on streets to defy new protest law

Thousands of Egyptians have taken to the streets, defying a new anti-protest law. In several cities they were met by riot police, who hurled tear gas and fired water cannon. Activists say the new protest law is draconian, and an attempt to silence voices that oppose the military-backed government. The goverment says it needs to restore order. Al Jazeera's Hoda Abdel Hamid reports from Cairo.
