Rock band Black Sabbath were the big winners of this year’s Classic Rock awards in London.

The legendary band picked up three prizes including the Living Legend award, Album Of The Year and Event Of The Year.

“I’m really happy I’m alive to receive this award because I did a good job over the years of trying to kill myself with all the drugs and booze that I’ve done. I don’t know what to say really, it’s just been one of those incredible years for us all this year, thank you very much, god bless you,” said the band’s lead singer Ozzy Osbourne.

Zakk Wylde, Ozzy Osbourne’s former guitarist and the founder of heavy metal band Black Label Society, received the Metal Guru award. And British hard rock band The Darkness picked up the gong for Showmen of the Year.

“It’s been a long time since we won an award and this is the most special of all of them,” said lead singer Justin Hawkins.

Other awards went to the Rolling Stones for Best Band, Fleetwood Mac for their 35th anniversary edition of “Rumours” and Led Zeppelin for Film Of The Year.
