Audi flies 45 meters through the air at France-Switzerland border check

This black Audi has seen better days. But it's driver and passenger incredibly, are doing just fine after surviving a spectacular but entirely accidental 140-foot long aerial stunt worthy of Hollywood.

The accident occurred late on Friday at this border crossing in the town of Thonex on the Swiss side of the France-Switzerland boundary.

According to border guards, the Audi approached the crossing at high speed.

The driver says he was distracted with his GPS and didn't notice the guardrail. The vehicle collided with the angled rail and became airborne, sailing as high as 15 feet into the air and clearing a small customs building. Incredibly, the car completed one full barrel roll before landing 140 feet from the impact point. It then skidded another 98 feet before coming to rest.

Both occupants walked away, and according to border officials were oblivious to exactly what had just happened.
