Typhoon causes extensive damage

Residents in the Philippines are just starting to assess the damage from a massive typhoon that tore through the country Friday.

Homes and structures have been reduced to match stick like timbers after Typhoon Haiyan, an enormous Category 5 storm, ripped through central parts of the country.

At least 100 people have been reported dead, but that number is expected to rise once communications have been restored in remote locations.

Meanwhile, people in parts of Vietnam are preparing for Haiyan's arrival later this weekend.

Residents were busy filling sandbags and securing their roofs.

Although the storm has been downgraded to a Category 4, it's expected to regain strength over the South China Sea on its course to hit Vietnam early Sunday.
