Death toll expected to rise in Philippines

Residents living in parts of central Philippines are starting to clear debris Saturday after Typhoon Haiyan tore through parts of the country.

The massive Category 5 typhoon- possibly the strongest ever to hit land- has devastated parts of the island nation.

Dramatic video shows winds ripping roofs off buildings and bending trees.

Some of the most affected areas include Cebu- a popular tourist destination- with more than 80 percent of homes along the coast flattened.

The death toll stands at 100 but officials expect that number to rise as communications are restored in remote locations.

The country sees about 20 typhoons every year.
