'Santa' Gets Stuck in Chimney While Trying to Burglarize House

A Florida male, identified as 25-year-old Richard Tyler Brandon had attempted to crawl down an 18 foot long chimney of a home located on Neapolitan Way in Naples, Florida. He wanted to burglarize the residence, however he got stuck on the route down and required help from emergency crews.

It’s hard to believe -Christmas is almost here. Just in time for the holiday season, a man was recently pulled from a chimney, but his intentions weren’t exactly like Santa’s.

The male, identified as 25-year-old Richard Tyler Brandon had attempted to crawl down an 18 foot long chimney of a home located on Neapolitan Way in Naples, Florida to burglarize the residence, however he got stuck on the route down and required help from emergency crews.

Nearly a dozen firefighters were sent to the scene after Brandon’s accomplice alerted police of the mishap. According to reports, Brandon decided to break into the home after falling short on cash while at a local bar drinking.

Prior to the rescue, firefighters snapped a comical photo. Brandon’s bare foot can be seen hanging in the fireplace. Emergency crews used a harness which was hooked up to a ladder truck, in order to pull him out.

The chimney encountered damages in the process. The homeowner, Mike Whitley laughed about the incident referring to Brandon as a backwards Santa.

Both Brandon and his accomplice were arrested and charged with burglary.
