Cruise: Scientology played part in divorce, Morissette working on musical

Tom Cruise has admitted that Katie Holmes left him partly because of his ties to Scientology. Cruise participated in a deposition for his 50 million dollar libel lawsuit against a magazine company. During his questioning, Cruise was asked if Holmes ended their marriage in part to protect their daughter Suri from Scientology. According to transcripts, Cruise said it was a false statement, but then later admitted that Holmes did indicate that protecting Suri from the church was one of her reasons for leaving.

Alanis Morissette is turning her hit 90s album "Jagged Little Pill" into a Broadway musical. The show - which is expected to debut as a workshop production next year - is set to include all the songs from the album and new original ones. "Jagged Little Pill" sold more than 30 million copies and won Morissette an Album of the Year Grammy.

Emma Thompson has stepped into Hollywood history, putting her hands and feet in cement at Hollywood's historic TCL Chinese Theatre.
