Rough Cut Film Review continues it's extreme cinema season with the 2003 French Film High Tension.

IMDB Plot Summary -

Alexia travels with her friend Marie to spend a couple of days with her family in their farm in the country. They arrive late and they are welcomed by Alexia's father. Late in the night, a sadistic and sick killer breaks into the farmhouse, slaughters Alexia's family--including their dog--and kidnaps Alexia. Marie hides from the criminal and tries to help the hysterical and frightened Alexia, chase the maniac, and disclose his identity in the end.

Slightly dubious IMDB Review -

What ever you do, don;t watch this movie. It is a rip off of Dean Koontz's Intensity which was made into a made for TV movie in the mid or late 90's. The filmmakers say that its not supposed to be but its kinda hard to believe when the plot line is 99.9 percent like Intensity. I will admit some parts are pretty creepy but over all it is a waste of film, time, and money. If I were Dean Koontz or Yves Simoneau I'd sue the makers of High Tension for copyright infringement and plagiarism. Seriously there is nothing worse than a filmmaker who has to steal someones story, make a horrible movie out of it, and then claim it as their own ideas. If there was a lower voting number on here id chose the lowest number possible. To give this film a one is giving it to much credit.
