The directorial debut of the One and only Keanu Reeves reunites him with two of his key collaborators on The Matrix — legendary action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping and stuntman-turned-action star Tiger Chen — for a bone-crunching, high-flying, supercharged saga of self-realization through the martial arts. Linhu (Chen), a humble delivery man who lives in a Beijing tenement block, fills his every non-working hour studying a combat-based form of tai chi called Ling Kong, which means "Empty your spirit." When his master's dilapidated temple is threatened with demolition, Linhu reluctantly accepts an offer from a sinister American businessman (Reeves) to participate in an underground fight club — but Linhu's success in the arena soon puts his pacifist principles at odds with a savage side of his nature that he never knew existed. Interweaving earnest philosophical reflections with eye-popping, spectacularly staged fight scenes, Man of Tai Chi is an exhilarating cross-cultural action epic.
