Conrad Murray released from jail

Michael Jackson fans set up these signs and waited outside a Los Angeles jail for Conrad Murray to be released.

SOUNDBITE: MICHAEL JACKSON FAN KARLENE TAYLOR, SAYING:

"He murdered Michael Jackson. He will never get a day in peace."

Murray was convicted of administering a fatal dose of the powerful anesthetic Propofol to the King of Pop, causing his death.

He was released Monday morning after serving two years behind bars.

SOUNDBITE: LA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE PUBLIC SPOKESPERSON STEVE WHITMORE, SAYING:

"Conrad Murray was released at 12:01 tonight from the LA County jail. He was released safely and securely. That's pretty much all we'll be saying."

Murray managed to avoid the crowd waiting outside.

His lawyer asking the public to respect his privacy.
