Somewhere I Have Never Traveled – for Tenor and Piano, Op. 46 (poem by e. e. cummings)

This song was written in 1986. The poem is a beautiful expression of the inexpressible experience of love, and how it makes one aware of things not usually noticed. If only we could hold onto the wonder we experience when we truly love someone, then we would come closer to what is truly divine. The song was begun in happiness, but completed after a love had ended. That explains the generally autumnal tone. The song was performed here on Feb. 10, 2013 by David Saslav, tenor and Mizue Hishinuma, piano. Contact me at dvic56@aol.com for info on sheet music.
