DE GRINPIPOL - KEEP UP PRICES
De Grinpipol formed in Sassari, Sardinia in 2004, The band, whose name stands from the spelled Italian pronunciation of "The Green People", realized their first 7", "De Grin Sound of De Grinpipol" in 2007. They cut their self-titled album by winter 2010, playing about 150 concerts in the last 2 years, sharing the stage with bands such as Placebo, Gogol Bordello, Murder By Death, Julian Cope, Marc Almond, Giant Sand. Well reviewed in most Italian music magazines, they also were broadcasted in European and American web radios. Selected by the organizers of "Glastonbury Emerging talents 2011" as one of the 160 most interesting European new bands, De Grinpipol caught the attention of Seahorse Recordings who signed the band to a recording deal. On June 2012 they released their first studio album on Seahorse Recordings entitled "Earworms". The title is inspired by a Northampton postman friend of the band, who once told them about "a piece of music that sticks in one's mind so that one seems to hear it, even when it is not being played". The album ranges from electronic new wave songs like "Feed the music" and "Funny games", dirty pop punk hits like "Minoli" (on the Italian TV journalist Giovanni Minoli) and "Keep up prices" (a freak pop ballad based around the last European economic crisis). There's also the bruised, tender album closer "The reckless", a personal view of revolution in the digital era.
