A couple in Quincy, Massachusetts is now facing criminal charges after they were accused of a hideous crime involving a pet cat. Law enforcement authorities believe 36-year-old Lori Tasney and 33-year-old Christopher Lang murdered a beautiful cat by putting it in a clothes dryer.

The animal did not belong to the couple accused of the act, but instead it was the pet of a woman named Dana Hamilton and her elderly father. The cat encountered broken bones and burns from the heating appliance.

A local veterinarian who performed a post mortem exam of the cat detailed the injuries noting “This cat died after repeated blunt force trauma and hyperthermia with bruising to the head and face, broken teeth, bleeding into the eyes and pulmonary contusions.”

The crime occurred last spring, however the couple was just arraigned in Quincy District Court on October 10th. Tasney and Lang both pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty.

The couple had been in Hamilton’s home on April 30th and May 1st, babysitting the woman’s toddler. Hamilton contacted police after coming home to find her cat dead and noticing that fur covered the lint trap of the dryer.
