Malala meets Britain's Queen

Malala Yousafzai meets Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in London, and presented the queen with her book "I am Malala."

Last year, the young Pakistani activist was shot in the head by the Taliban for speaking out about girls' education.

(SOUNDBITE) PAKISTANI TEENAGE ACTIVIST, MALALA YOUSAFZAI, SAYING:

"Today is Friday and I had to miss my school because I was meeting the Queen. And it's such an honor for me to be here now in Buckingham Palace, and it was really an honor to meet the Queen."

The sixteen-year-old has said she wants to pursue a future in politics in Pakistan, but also seeks to promote higher education globally.
