Libyan al Qaeda suspect al-Liby pleads not guilty in New York court

An alleged senior al Qaeda figure suspected of involvement in the 1998 bombing of the U.S. embassy in Kenya, which killed more than 200 people, offers a not guilty plea Tuesday.

The man known as Abu Anas al-Liby appeared in federal court in New York where he entered his plea.

His appearance comes 10 days after a U.S. Army squad captured him in Tripoli and sent him to a U.S. Navy ship in the Mediterranean Sea for interrogation.

It's not immediately known whether al-Liby cooperated with U.S. interrogators.
